Description

If you think 1,281 lines of conversation about the weather sounds like the most polite play ever, then think again! You’ll be surprised by what the gods of snow, sun, rain, and wind get up to in this entertaining comedy. Jupiter has his hands full!

The volume is a type-facsimile of the first edition, printed in 1533 by William Rastell and the first of four sixteenth-century editions, more than any other of Heywood’s comedies. Its typography closely resembles The Play of Love, John Heywood’s other play printed by Rastell in the same year, also available from the Malone Society.
